One of the things I enjoy most about model railroading is meeting new people who are fellow railroaders. Such is the case this past month. I met Bryan Daniel and his friend Bob at the Model Railroad Expo at Cal Expo last month. Bryan is building his own HO layout and Has allowed me the opportunity to work on it with him and Bob. So I have had a blast helping Bryan and getting to know him and Bob as well as working on my own layout.
HO model railroad set in my minds eye of scenery I'v seen over my lifetime. The main operation of the railroad will be based on the Verde Tunnel and Smelter Railroad in my home town of Clarkdale AZ.
That 4-8-4 Northern looks cool. I'm excited to see what it looks like detailed and painted. What are you going to name your mountain? You know every good mountain needs a name. Next time I come home I'm going to bring some climbing figures to put on your mountain!
ReplyDeleteHey, this is going along just great. Talent night is coming up in April. How are you going to share this with the ward? You're doing a great job, so keep it up. If you're going to have climbers on the mountain, I want equal representation for skiers/boarders! That brings the notion of seasonal activities, like snow removal depictions--have you seen any before? Making a plow just might be an original, not kit based, or is there a kit? And where are you putting the temple? Which temple would you copy? I suppose you could have so many ideas to include that it's impossible to have it all---that of course leads you to start thinking of what to include in your next layout... This could take some time!
